Ansel Adams + Richard Misrach: Exploring Legacies

Working with a modest budget my goal was to direct a film rich in story and visual complexity in a small package.
By leaning into the personal relationship of Richard Misrach (featured in our museum exhibition), and Ansel Adams I was able to tell a story which underpinned the passion both men have for photography and its ability to touch our lives and spirits.

“Ansel Adams + Richard Misrach: Exploring Legacies” is the latest installment of the award-winning short documentary series “FAMSF Presents.” Featuring archival footage of Ansel Adams, as well as interviews with Berkeley-based photographer Richard Misrach and FAMSF curator Lauren Palmor, this film examines the impact of Ansel Adams’s prolific photography in the Bay Area and beyond.
